The Parisian themed restaurant, La Maison Rose (The Pink House) has grown to a much better spot in the Queen City which I now claim The French Park. First, it expanded to a Parisian wine junction; La Vie Parisienne, and now a pizza place has sprouted in the same spot, and it’s called WORLD PIZZA: Around the world in 80 Pizzas.

The World Pizza has quite some worldly taste, instead of just pure French. They offer 80 different kinds of pizzas from the Philippines to the world.

The spot has just a bar for the waiters and waitresses to stay and get the orders, together with the European style stove where the pizzas are cooked; and just some chairs and tables around. The best thing is that they have a huge hammock that looks like the ones I’ve seen on 9gag, which seems relaxing, and when I was there, kids were enjoying the swinging treat.

PANO_20140302_164201447

The best thing was that the waitress told us that we could go and sit anywhere, from La Maison Rose, La Vie Parisienne to World Pizza, just as long as it’s in The French Park.

Try their American pizza that costs P250.00 and also their Laos pizza that costs P210.00. Both are equally delicious and sumptuous, and my partner was indeed super impressed by the way it was flavoured.

You can also blend two pizzas at a time for the highest price of the two you’ve chosen. What I mean was that; just like us, we bought American for P250 and Laos for P210, we paid P250 pesos because it’s the highest price of both.

TIP: If you’re planning to mix two flavours at the same time; choose those treats/pizzas that have the same price or at the same price range. If you choose the P250.00 pizza, better make sure the half of it also costs P250 or at that range.

The Pizza Challege

Now, my partner and I were really impressed by it, so we made a deal to experience another pizza treat that comes from another country to experience of what it taste like in other places just like the way I imagined it to be.

Now, the challenge starts… care to join us?

A TRUE CUPCAKE SHOP | CUPCAKEN | EXPERIENCE [PHOTOS]

Cupcaken

Cupcaken

–          ★★★ ½

I’ve always loved the feel of a pastry house or any cupcake store just as long as it’s true to its theme and feels at home while chilling with my partner. It’s always good to discover a downtown treat because it goes to show how plentiful of good stuffs there are in town.

And I consider Cupcaken as one of the best out of them cupcake stores.

Cupcaken has variety of cupcake offers that are presented well in their store and which I appreciated due to its welcoming feel and cozy ambiance that differs to one store I’ve been which felt like canteen-ish rather than a cupcake store (But still have oh-so-delicious cupcakes).

Cupcaken

Cupcaken

Their cupcakes are worth the buy too which are winners due to its delish frosting, cute designs and variety of flavors that ranges to P60.00 and above. They also have miniature version of their cupcake offers that is cheaper than the original ones but is only available at 2:00-5:00PM every day.

Cupcaken has also drink delights that are complimentary to the cupcakes that are offered from juices to coffees.

Although, I wished the store was located somewhere else that feels safer from ill-doers.

Nevertheless, Cupcaken is located at R. Duterte St., Banawa, Cebu City, street-side, which you will truly enjoy with your friends and family plus a parking lot good for 2-3 cars, perfect for a stop-by chill out.

Salutations! Un délice parisien en ville. Perfectionnez pour n’importe qui qui aime tout français. Venez vous joindre à moi.

(Cross fingers that Google Translate didn’t give me wrong translations hihi)

LA VIE PARISIENNE

2

Besides Greece being one of the top of the list in my best places I want to go while still living, which the restaurant CYMA-Greek Taverna gave me that glimpse of experience; Paris is still on the pedestal of my dream places I want to go.

Every girl’s dream is Paris… well that includes rainbow people of course!

And Paris doesn’t just collocate with Eiffel Tower, the Louvre or the wonderful top-view scenery; but also the restaurants with pastries and wine!

And if Paris-like experience is what you’re looking for; then La Vie Parisienne is perfect for your taste.

La Vie Parisienne

WHERE?

Located at Gorordo Avenue, Cebu City; beside the Pink House Restaurant which is also Parisian inspired, La Vie Parisienne is a bakery and winery that offers pastry treats and variety of delish wine flavors. The store is carved to look exact like a French winery, especially on the inner part where you can sit down with all the wine on the curve shaped walls that looked really fancy!

Yet, when my partner and I came there, the outer part of the shop was still renovating, focusing on their wooden floors; but you can see the potential in giving customers the French garden ambiance and giving that socialite junction experience. With the surrounding greenery and night light lanterns; everything must look perfect day and night!

PRICE RANGE

The offers are good taste and affordable! They have their croissants that cost only P25.00 and it really tastes so good for a normal pastry. They also have Macaroons in different colors that are offered in sets. Also their wines that vary from sparkling wines, that costs only P200.00 and above which are good for teens and light drinkers, to the expensive yet rich wines.

EXPERIENCE

The experience was lacking because of the obvious renovations in front of us, but the potential when it’s done is what I’m excited about! When it’s done by December 2013, then it’s the perfect place for the perfect mood of Christmas.

Their offers vary from affordable to pricey, where they may imply that everyone can afford.

FrenchPark?

La Vie Parisienne is now a cherry blossom wonderland full of the said trees, only faux, but none-the-less exciting and wonderful. Now, the place which started from the La Maison Rose (The Pink House) is now a French Park, filled with excitement and worldly surprises. There’s also two new treats at the park; World Pizza which offers different kinds of pizzas from 80 countries! Yes, you’ve read it right, 80 countries. And if you read my blog about it, you’ll be excited to try it too. Also there’s an ice cream stand called Healthy Icy that offers different kinds of healthy and natural ice creams that you’ll have the will on your own flavour composition.

See the Photos Below and visit the Parisian Park.

UPDATE  (10/23/2014)

DOME

I’ve been to La Vie Parisienne once again because they have another upgrade with the place and it’s beyond awesome. The lights are brighter and the design is fashionably Paris. I only wished there was an Eiffel Tower anywhere near. It’s nostalgia. It’s Paris. It’s Instagram-worthy. (Sorry guys for the watermark, I’ve learned my lessons from online plagiarism.)

Although it’s colorful there, the burger really looks sad for P75.00.

Bread After Bread | A Fairytale Story | Pastries Review

I’m a good eater, but I sometimes don’t appreciate sugar coated treats, nor bread. But then, my boyfriend is fond of almost everything he consumes with his mouth (teehee), including pastries. So, inspired by the ABC’s TV Series Once Upon a Time, here’s a tale I have to tell you:

Once upon a time, I and my Prince Charming (boyfie) marched the weary road (H. Abellana street) of tireless carriages (jeepney) to find a spot and have our glamorous lunch. We were so in famine when my Charming suddenly noticed something from afar; a delicacy ménage stood atop of the perfectly carved pedestal, beside an infamous grill place (BBQ BOSS). His eyes grew wider and wetter as he saw magnificence inside that pastry house.

With no halls barred, he crashed the glass doors of the store and overjoyed of seeing all those inanimate delicacies, but for him, it was alive and waving ‘hi, buy me!’ And so he proceeded to the stall where this handful loaf (Ensaymada) stood lonely for it has been there for like a hundred years (jk, just days).

And so, without further ado; my Charming caught with his right hand that poor little loaf and went straight to the counter and paid a silver coin (P49.00) for the Loaf and a quid (P13.00) for what I bought which was a Chocolate Cake (no translations, I really bought a small Chocolate Cake). And floating-like, he went straight out to the door and stood outside triumphant, like he has slayed a dragon!

We went home and did not wait for him to settle down; he then dared open the transparent box that covered the loaf, but I said, “Not yet, Charming… I need to Instagram this sh*t.”

Ensay

Sorry for the ugly shot of the ensaymada

And so he agreed.

*CLICK!

He was so much full of excitement, and after he opened the box; he was almost on the grab of it, but then I said, “STOP!”.

He asked, “WHY?!”

I replied, “Two pictures to edit in Photogrid and transfer to Instagram right after, my ghaaa, you’re so not IN.”

*CLICK AGAIN

And right after that, he grabbed the loaf and opened his mouth, and then took a mouthful. His eyes were closed, able to feel all the sweetness in his taste buds. And when he opened his eyes; I did not saw euphoria, instead I saw disappointment and he told me why it was like that.

He said, “I was expecting for the loaf to be soft and squishy! Not rough and hard, like this!”

And so he cried, and cried, and cried. He can’t get no satisfaction. No, No, No.

Back to reality! Okay, so my boyfriend was disappointed with the result of how the bread was worked. The expectation came from the façade of the store which looked really expensive and the ambiance of the store itself inside. The prices were affordable and justifiable; but the loaf and how it was made was painful to realize, just like how it was done in a normal bakery house.

He did not enjoy the ensaymada, although, it tasted good, just like the chocolate cake I bought but also has a hard feel to it.
